The State Troopers Association of Nebraska was formed over thirty years ago, after troopers across the state recognized the need for a representative organization of the state patrol officers. From its first days until the present time, S.T.A.N. has provided a unified voice for Nebraska’s troopers regarding public safety issues, professional law enforcement concerns and legislative initiatives.

Our Mission
Representing the Nebraska State Patrol, we provide a unified voice for public safety and professional law enforcement concerns.

Membership of S.T.A.N. is compromised of employees of the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP). All the duty activities of the NSP are funded by the State of Nebraska., Uniform Nebraska State Patrol officers are primarily assigned to traffic enforcement. The NSP has specialized divisions of officers for Carrier Enforcement, Air Wing, K-9 Units, Training Academy, Executive Protection, SWAT, Bomb Disposal, and Accident Reconstruction. Investigative Services State Patrol officers are responsible for criminal, drug, alcohol & tobacco, and auto theft investigations.
